National Pecan Torte Day Dessert

National Pecan Torte Day Dessert

Did you know that pecans are a rich source of manganese which is a powerful antioxidant which helps boost your immunity and protects your nerve cells from free-radical damage? Which is healthy talk for it is good for your immune system! Not only are pecans super tasty, they are also good for you! So in honor of National Pecan Torte Day, here is tasty Pecan Torte dessert recipe that will leave you begging for seconds!

Let’s start with what you’ll need for the torte:

1 ¾ cups of pecans (yum)

2 Tbs. of flour

¼ tsp. of kosher salt

6 eggs (separated of course)

2/3 cup of granulated sugar

Before getting messy, preheat your oven to 325°F. Don’t forget we want the torte to be tasty but we also want the process to be easy so be sure to use the Cooks Innovations Non-Stick Cake Pan Liner! The cake liner is 100% non-stick so you don’t have to worry about greasing or using parchment paper!

Next step is to combine the pecans, flour, and salt into a food processor until the ingredients are finely ground. Once that is done you are going to need to beat the egg whites and 1/3 cup of the sugar until the mix starts to foam.

But don’t worry, it is easier than it sounds, especially if you use the Zip Whisk from Cooks Innovations. Trust us when we say it will make the process WAY easier! All you have to do is push and mix; it’s that easy!

Once that is done, typically 3 to 5 minutes until you have a thick, pale mixture, fold in the pecan/flour mixture in with a spatula. Pour the batter into the pan and bake until the cake is a nice golden brown. Quick tip: stick a toothpick in the middle of the cake, if it comes out clean then the cake is ready! Then of course, let the cake cool down.

You’re not done yet! Rather than driving yourself crazy by watching the clock while the cake is cooling, use that time to make your bourbon whipped cream.

What you’ll need for the whipped cream:

½ cup of heavy cream

1 tsp. of confectioners’ sugar

2 tsp. of bourbon (double yum)

1 tsp. of vanilla extract

For the whipped cream, beat the four ingredients in a bowl until the mixture can hold its shape (using your Zip Whisk of course).

And that’s it! Scoop some of the bourbon whipped cream on top of your pecan torte and let the National Pecan Torte Day celebration begin!
