Black Friday Shopping Tips

Black Friday Shopping Tips

If you love shopping, then surely you are already preparing for the ultimate shopping experience: Black Friday.

It is probably the biggest shopping day of the year that gives you deals on just about everything you can imagine. But it can also be very intimidating, especially to those who are new to the Black Friday experience. Here are a few shopping tips that can help you have a smooth experience and shop like a Black Friday pro!

  1. Plan, Plan, Plan!

For those first time Black Friday recipients, it is definitely not the day to window shop! The best way to avoid the chaos is to have a game plan ready. Black Friday ads typically come out on Thanksgiving but you can find lots of ads online a few weeks before your shopping extravaganza. Take some time to make a list of the things you want and then search online for the best deals and the times the stores will open. But don’t forget items like TV’s and game consoles are considered “high-demand” so there will probably be limited quantities and will go very fast.

  1. Prioritize!

Prioritizing is everything! You don’t want to lose out on certain deals so it is best to know what items you really want as opposed to those that you can get any other day of the year. Knowing what items you want to get first is going to give you the opportunity to actually have a chance at the amazing deals.

  1. Know the Policies!

There are certain store policies that allow you to get even better deals; like price matching. If a store offers price matching on Black Friday you can cut down the amount of stores you visit, saving you gas and time!

  1. Have Your Ads Ready!

It is always best to have ads on hand in case you need to reference a certain sale. There are apps that you can download that specifically show Black Friday ads. But if you aren’t interested in adding another app to your phone, store a few paper ads in your purse/bag so they are easily accessible.

  1. The Early Bird Gets the Worm!

While you can get some deals throughout the day, the best deals will typically start very, very early. Most stores will change their hours to 4, 5, or 6 AM and it’s best to be there before the store opens to ensure you get the items on your list. And for those of you who don’t mind doing a little bit of shopping after Thanksgiving dinner, most stores have extended their Black Friday discounts to Thanksgiving night!

  1. The More the Merrier!

Ever heard the quote “teamwork makes the dream work?” When shopping on Black Friday try to go with a friend (or friends). Shopping with friends is not only more fun, it also helps you cover more ground in the stores that you visit. Compare each other’s lists and divide and conquer! Just make sure your phones are charged so you can call each other to meet up.

  1. Just Get a Gift Card!

Black Friday is typically used for holiday shopping because of the great deals. But getting gifts can be harder than it sounds! So when in doubt, buy a gift card. Most people don’t know that lots of stores offer deals on gift cards too (for example, $80 for a $100 gift card)! If you just don’t know what gifts to get take the easy route and buy a gift card. Not only are you saving your money, you are also guaranteed to have a happy gift recipient!
